In preparation for the Arena of Valor International Championship (AIC) 2019 — the crown Asian event for the game which last year featured a $600,000 prize pool — ESL has announced the inaugural ESL MSP Championship, a qualifier for AIC 2019 for Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines.
ESL MSP will be a proving ground for the teams in the region. Not only will the best teams earn a place in AIC 2019, but they’ll also split a $10,000 prize pool.
The ESL MSP Championship will have two invited teams and six teams that have to earn their spots through open qualifiers. The two invited teams are the finalists of last season’s Valor Cup — M8HEXA from Malaysia and Liyab Esports from the Philippines. There will be a total of 3 open qualifiers where the top 2 teams of each qualifier will advance directly to the ESL MSP Championship. The 3 open qualifiers will be happening on the 13th, 17th & 20th August respectively.
AIC 2019 will feature teams from all over the world and it’s one of the most prestigious events on the calendar. Although primarily featuring teams from the Asian countries, teams from Europe, North America and Latin America will also be attending.
