It’s been more than a year since the Team Nigma players have been able to take a full series from OG, but the long series of defeats has been interrupted today in the semifinals of OGA Dota PIT Season 2.
Unfortunately, Nigma’s captain, Kuro “KuroKy” Takhasomi, wasn’t with his team today to enjoy the victory he was looking to take for such a long time. Forced to stay away due to a hand injury, Kuro let the team coach Roman “rmN-” Paley step in the position 5 support, while Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi is testing his ideas about drafting.
In this setup Nigma managed to align two drafts that allowed them to play aggressively from early laning stage and match OG’s playstyle. In game one OG decided to take Meepo with their last pick as Nigma didn’t really have strong lockdown spells. However, what OG seemed to overlook was Nigma’s potential burst onto one of the Meepos and found pretty quickly that playing the hero against a true master Meepo player wasn’t the best idea.
Aliwi “w33” Omar knew exactly the farming patterns for Meepo and when to gank him in the jungle to make his life miserable up to the point where he was not a threat anymore. After surviving the Mepoo attack with little to no hard lockdowns, game two featured a support Clockwerk for rmN, a Rubick for Maroun “GH” Merhej and an offlane Slardar to complement Miracle’s Phantom Assassin. The game went down fast, with OG having no chance to avoid the fights and give Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen a chance to take over with his Arc Warden in the late stage.
Defeated, but not eliminated OG will now continue their tournament journey via the lower bracket while Nigma join Alliance in the upper bracket finals.
